NEW EYES ON THE WORLD
A VR experience introducing students to the SDG’s via relatable and tangible stories
NEW EYES ON THE WORLD grew from a wish to create awareness about the UN SDG’s and make them relatable and tangible for pupils living in a part of the world not directly affected by serious global issues. Research showed that young danes have a tendency to experience indifference and “compassion fatigue” when faced with the struggles of the world, as they are often presented to campaigns victimizing people living in developing countries. The object of this transmedia teaching material is to make pupils identify with people outside of their everyday world and make them feel inspired to take actions for our shared future. Through video and virtual reality the pupils travel to Sri Lanka to meet an awesome peer who shows them the challenges her country faces. The travel kicks off a journey back in the classroom leading the students towards creative solutions to impact a better and more sustainable global society. NEOTW will first be launched in DK, then we focus on distribution in Europe
