Prometeo: Liver Perfusion Portable Machine
Prometeo is able to transport a liver for a transplant, keeping it alive, without time constraints.
Prometeo is a device for the oxygenated perfusion transport of liver organs. It represents the synthesis between the concepts of protection and traceability typical of a container used for the transport of organs and perfusion technology, capable of keeping the organ alive outside the human body and it increases the useful life of a liver during its transportation, reducing waste, increasing the number and the type of donors and improving the post-operative condition of the transplant patient. Designed to be transported as a trolley travel bag, it needs medical specialists to be used to best advantage although it can be transported without special expert knowledge. The elements used for the perfusion process come in a separately produced kit which is disposable and sealed by the manufacturer.
