Encuro Blocks communicate, visualise and solve mental health problems by breaking them down.
Depression is the silent epidemic that affects 1 in 5 adults, the WHO predicts that by 2030, depression will become the leading cause of global disability burden. Unlike physical illness, it is invisible and many people suffer alone.
Depression and anxiety can make everyday tasks such as cleaning or going to the shop very difficult, support from friends and family can ease this burden. The difficult part is knowing when and how to ask for help.
Encuro blocks can help visualize the unseen, by allowing the user to communicate their problems without having to say the words. The app allows those with problems to tag their worries into each block using NFC technology. The blocks have different sizes, to represent the size of the problem. Users then build a structure of their problems.
Friends and family can scan to see their problems and help solve them together. When one is solved, they can remove the block; over time, the user will see mountain of problems slowly shrink.
