HWB (Human Waste Bioreactor) solutions
The design provides access to renewable energy and proper sanitation.
The design, born in high school was to solve a rift between the school and the local community solving a problem 4 over million Kenyan households face, lack of renewable energy and sanitation. His design has featured on CNN, Forbes, Grist, Fast Company and CCTV America. The design uses human waste to generate biogas, won Innovate Kenya's 2013 Idea competition and bagged a prize which they used to build a prototype in his school. When he finished high school, he started a pilot project in his rural home in Taita Taveta Community where it serves a couple of households. It also addresses a niche market in the commercial sector where institutions are now looking into cleaner fuel sources.eg Learning institutions and Hotels.
