LuminAID is a solar-powered inflatable lantern for developing country
LuminAID lantern is designed to address dependence on kerosene lamps in the developing world and its extremely lightweight and easy to transport inflatable design is also targeted at use in disaster relief situations. LuminAID is fully charged after 4-6 hours in sunlight makes and is reportedly good for up to four hours of lighting at 35 lumens, or up to six hours at 20 lumens. The battery can be recharged 800 times. LuminAID has distributed over 10,000 lights in more than 50 countries to individuals in need of a better, safer, and cleaner source of light. 1.6 billion people around the world lack proper access to electricity. Through our Give Light, Get Light program, LuminAID partner with NGOs and non-profits all over the world to distribute LuminAID lights to individuals who will greatly benefit from a safe, rechargeable light source.
