AnemiPoint is an affordable handheld anaemia diagnostic device offering laboratory accuracy. Using a single drop of blood from a finger prick, it enables clinicians to diagnose anaemia. Anaemia affects 1 in 4 people and is the world’s second most debilitating condition. It is responsible for the reduced cognitive development of children and up to 40% of maternal deaths. If diagnosed, anaemia is often easily curable. Underpinned by cutting edge technology AnemiPoint is designed to minimise user errors. This is especially important in healthcare where accidental misuse can have serious consequences. Through working with doctors in different healthcare settings around the world we have designed the device to work in every situation. AnemiPoint performs 400 measurements on a single charge and is not affected by power shortages. AnemiPoint is sustainable, no reagents are required meaning that it continues to be a powerful tool for anaemia diagnosis even in remote, resource limited settings.
